off, if you are at all interested in keeping bees yourself, or if you
do keep bees and you would like to learn how to get off the chemical
treadmill, please check out our Massachusetts Chemical Free Beekeeping Support Group. I have put up some old programs from the Worcester County Beekeepers Association, WCBA (1912 and 1913) up here. Laurie and I are members of the WCBA, and highly recomend their programs and bee school. Dee Lusby's perspective on things....fascinating read. Michael Bush seems to have information on everything bee related...and always the answer you are looking for. Lots of novel aproaches and ideas. The Organic Beekeeping Yahoo Group. A lot to wade through, but the most active beekeeping list on the net (with 1500 members). This is strictly a "no treatment" list, and no discussion of treatments is tolerated. Honey Super Cell is the small cell plastic foundation we have been using to regress quickly. I've started to read some of what Walt Wright has written, and I really like his perspective. BeeSource in general is a good site...measured plans, beekeeping forum, and lots of info. Warm Colors Apiary is run by Dan Conlon, and his wife Bonita. He is in South Deerfield, and keeps woodenware and other supplies (including queens) in stock. |
